Listen: Who’s Caring for NYC Docs?/Gearing Up For Trump Deportation Battle…

By Bob Hennelly

On this episode of the Stuck Nation Labor Radio Hour, we hear from two New York City physicians with the Doctors Council, SEIU about the lack of progress with management at Health + Hospitals Corporation, the city’s public hospital system.

Hundreds of physicians, who work for  second party providers,  but serve H+H patients,  have voted to strike. They are not covered by New York State’s Taylor Act that prohibits public workers from striking.

In the second half of the show, we will get an update from City Council Member Alexa Aviles, chair of Immigration Committee, about what local officials can do in the event President-elect Trump makes good on his plans for the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.
