On the latest episode of the Stuck Nation Labor Radio Hour,  we recap last week’s Washington, D.C. rally to save traditional Medicare with Marianne Pizzitola, president of the New York City Organization of Public Service Retirees.

Megan Bent, whose father Gary Bent, was auto-enrolled into Medicare Advantage and died, will talk about her experiences with privatized healthcare. We also hear from former New Hampshire EMT Jenn Coffey, a breast cancer survivor, who is battling United Health Group to get needed treatment for her cancer recovery, as well as a rare and painful secondary disease.

In the second half of the show, New York Poor People’s Campaign tri-chairs Jamel Coy Hudson and Kelly Smith outline how they plan on injecting the everyday challenges of New York’s low-wealth and low-wage workers into the 2024 campaign agenda.
